It is a bit hard to decide what to say and include about this portion of our trip. Glacier is so large and there are so many beautiful things to see and do (and we did our best to fit as many of those things in).

The one thing I would say after this trip is that if you are going to go, don’t sell yourself short. Go for a full week at the least so you have time to see the majority of the park and to go on some extended hikes or backpack to a remote campsite or two.

We fit a lot in during our 3-day stay, but left feeling like we barely scratched the surface.

A must-do is driving Going-to-the-Sun Road, which is the park’s most popular attraction. The road rises sharply from the valley floor by Lake McDonald and winds along toward Logan Pass and down towards Saint Mary Lake from which you can head North towards Many Glacier.

My favorite part (aside from the spectacular views around each bend) was the red tour buses with canvas roll-tops. At every major site and viewpoint the buses would pull over, and the riders would pop their heads out the top like prairie dogs to pull out their phones and iPads.
